Alongside the Intro to Journalism class, I spent several weeks in workshops with Zoe Carpenter, learning how to bring places to life through storytelling. My writing brings this story to life by weaving sensory details and personal memories---my goal was to allow the readers to feel emerged in the story as I worked to create a narrative that captures both the wild Cascades, and the vibrancy of the city.
