I wrote this from a character sheet written by somebody else as a short writing exercise in the lit mag writer's workshop. The genre was a little unfamiliar to me so pushing myself to embrace it was a valuable challenge!
The message of this story is that if the oppressed ban together, they can over throw an oppressor. Additionally, it addresses worries of a dystopia brought on by automation.
Set in a sci-fi world created by my boyfriend this work follows a group of oddball outcast mercs. My favorite tropes have always been some weirdos on a ship go on adventures, inspired greatly by works such as cowboy bebop and maybe a little bladerunner.
